A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH RED PANDAS: Where Nature inspires DESIGNs
Where nature’s wonder turns into inspiration: a tribute to the calm and spirit of the red panda.

We were fortunate to experience something truly extraordinary, one of those moments you don’t expect, especially in Italy. Perhaps it was because it was the off-season, or maybe because the day before had poured rain and the sun seemed like a distant mirage… yet, somehow, everything aligned that day. During our visit to Parco Zoo Punta Verde in Lignano, there was a moment when time seemed to slow, almost pause. Amidst a quiet, green habitat, two red pandas emerged through the leaves, light-footed, curious but discreet. It was an encounter that left a lasting impression, something we felt compelled to translate into art. And that’s how our new mini design collection, inspired by these incredible creatures, was born. Before sharing the details of our experience, we wanted to take a moment for a reflection that feels necessary.
A MUCH NEEDED REFLECTION
The topic of zoos is a sensitive one, and over time, it has sparked increasingly conscious debates. Once seen as places of simple entertainment, today they raise important questions about the real well-being of animals and the ethics of keeping wild creatures in small, artificial spaces for human amusement. That said, not all zoos are the same. Some still focus on spectacle and confinement, while others, like Parco Zoo Punta Verde, show a genuine commitment to animal care, education, and conservation. The park isn’t perfect; some animals would surely benefit from larger spaces. Yet the care behind every detail is evident: well-kept environments, clear and educational information, and a sincere effort to promote awareness rather than simple display. It’s also worth noting that the animals here are not taken from the wild. Most come from rescues, confiscations, or regulated breeding programs. And the close encounters offered to visitors aren’t just thrilling experiences, they are acts of support, with proceeds funding real conservation projects in the wild. With that in mind, we invite you behind the scenes.

BEHIND THE SCENES: A SPECIAL ACCESS
These close encounters are more than a simple visit; they’re a rare chance to step behind the scenes and access areas usually closed to the public. An inspiring experience that reveals the park’s most genuine side, the one dedicated to the actual daily care and management of animals. Guided by a passionate expert, we were captivated by stories and curiosities about red pandas and other species that live in the park. From the very beginning, the tone was clear: move calmly, no touching, let the animals set the pace.

tHE ENCOUNTER: AMONG TREES, SILENCE AND RESPECT
Once inside the red pandas’ area, under their watchful gaze from the branches above, we hid here and there, small treats (grapes and dried herb biscuits) part of an enrichment activity designed to stimulate their curiosity and natural instincts. Soon after, they appeared. Two red pandas, cautious yet curious, moving gracefully through the foliage. Watching them so closely was a true privilege: their fur glowing like fire in the sunlight, the way they sniffed the air as if every scent deserved their full attention, and those slow, deliberate movements that look clumsy, yet never are. They approached, studied us, foraged for food… then retreated quietly, as if reminded that solitude is their preferred company.
The experience is about mindful observation, being close without intruding. And that’s what makes it so powerful: it’s not just “seeing an animal up close”, but briefly stepping into its world with humility and respect.

AND THE BEST PART?
Knowing it wasn’t just a memory, but a small, tangible contribution to the future of these remarkable animals. The entire cost of the activity supports research and conservation projects run in collaboration with Red Panda Network*.

THE BIRTH OF A NEW COLLECTION
The encounter left us with an emotion that’s hard to describe, subtle yet lasting. And from that feeling, a new idea took shape: a capsule collection inspired by the red panda. A creative gesture meant to capture the quiet beauty and balance of that moment.
Two designs, two styles, two souls of the same creature.
The first, poetic and minimal, portrays the panda among Himalayan mountains and bamboo: a small tribute to its homeland and essence.
The second breaks the “cute” stereotype: a red panda in anime style, with a scar on its muzzle and a slightly grumpy expression. A way to reveal its true nature, solitary, elusive, independent, hidden behind that irresistibly charming look.

FOR THOSE WHO LOVE ANIMALS AND A TOUCH OF MAGIC
A unique and thoughtful gift idea for animal lovers. Beyond this red panda encounter, Parco Zoo Punta Verde offers other close-up experiences with giraffes, lemurs and other incredible species; all designed to educate, inspire and contribute to real conservation efforts.

We like to think every product we create tells a true story. And this one, with its branches and curious glances, is among the most special we’ve lived so far. If you love red pandas, or are searching for a meaningful gift inspired by nature, we invite you to explore our collection.
While we dream of one day seeing them among the Himalayan trees, this experience has been a genuine, conscious way to meet them up close. Whether it’s a gift for someone dear or for yourself, one thing is certain: it’s worth it.
This is not a sponsored post, but a genuine reflection on a truly unique and inspiring experience in Italy that we felt was worth sharing.
